School and Teacher Programs

Whether you and your students visit Denver Zoo or we come to your school, Denver Zoo offers a variety of programs for school groups and teachers, including classes, assemblies, workshops, and guided tours.

Graduate Program - AIP

Denver Zoo is excited to bring an opportunity for teachers and working professionals to further their higher education as well as become catalysts for global conservation and active stewards for Denver Zoo's mission.

Teen Programs

In case you were wondering - YES! - we do have programs for teenagers and pre-teens. Whether you’re curious about what it would be like to work with animals or just like to learn more about animal science, Denver Zoo’s the place for you! Our adult programs offer a wealth of educational opportunities designed to help “big kids” explore all that the Zoo has to offer.

Red Apple Fund for Lifelong Learning

Denver Zoo provides financial assistance for individuals, families, groups and schools whose financial situation may otherwise prevent them from participating in a program.

Denver Zoo Keeper Experience

Ever wonder what its like to be a zookeeper? Come spend a morning with Denver Zoo Education animal keepers while you learn about what is involved in being a zookeeper and have the opportunity to get some hands on experience working around live animals.

VIP Tour at Denver Zoo

Come experience the Zoo that few visitors get to see! Your tour guide will meet you at the front gate and escort your group through our award-winning Predator Ridge exhibit. Then it’s time to go behind the scenes with the animals in our Education collection and Wildlife Theater.

Veteran's Tours

This program was initiated by a Denver Zoo Docent Volunteer, a World War II Veteran himself, to honor and support a new generation of veterans and their families. These free, 90-minute, guided tours are designed to engage families of veterans in a fun-filled day together exploring Denver Zoo. Tours are free with paid admission to the zoo (Veterans are free) and require pre-registration.
